1) Apply for a Federal Registration Number (FRN)
1) Go to FCC Registration

2) Find your FRN
1) Do a License Search by Callsign

3) Get help with a password
a) Call Tech Support, (Monday – Friday, 1300 – 2300 UTC)

b) Reset the password on the FCC website.

4) Get an official copy of an Amateur Radio license
1) Go to License Manager and login using FRN and password.

2) Select Download Electronic Authorizations on the left side of the page
3) Scroll down to the My License box on the left, select from box on the left and Add to the Authorizations to Download box on the right.
4) Select Download arrow on the right will give you a PDF file in your computer Downloads folder
5) Update name or address of an Amateur Radio license
1) Go to License Manager and login using applicant's FRN and password.

2) Select Update under the Work On This License menu on the right side of the page
6) Renew an Amateur Radio license
1) Go to License Manager and login using applicant's FRN and password.

2) Select Renew under the My Licenses menu on the left side of the page
7) Apply to change a Call Sign (get a Vanity call sign)
1) Go to License Manager and login using applicant's FRN and password.

2) Select Request Vanity Call Sign under the Work On This License menu on the right side of the page
8) Request a Special Event station call sign
9) Cancel a call sign/license under deceased licensee's name
1) Go to Online Support Services - Submit a Help Request

2) Fill out the Submit a Help Request form and attach the Death Certificate file or a published/online (newspaper or mortuary) obituary file.
